Google [x]

This video Is done by a You-tuber called Boyinaband. He is very funny and informative. In the video he talks about Google’s secret research arm called Google [x]. Google [x] does projects (or as they call them, moonshots) that are helping advance technology in our world today. They invented the self driving car that has driven over 700,000 miles and only been in an accident once, and that was when someone rear ended it. They created Google Glasses, the glasses that let you film what you are seeing. They are also working on a moonshot called Google Loon. Google Loon is the idea of giving the whole world internet using giant floating wind turbines. They are working on contact lenses that monitor glucose in tears, so diabetic people will know when their blood sugar is low.

Google [x] created an artificial neural network that when given 10 million images from Youtube thought itself what a cat is. They Tried some moonshots that didn’t work out too. They successfully made a working prototype of a hoverboard but then said it would cost to much to manufacture. They also tried to create teleportation but concluded that, “The idea violates several laws of physics.”

I really enjoyed this video. I think it was witty and insightful. I love learning things like this, things that are changing our world. I also think this video is well worth 5 minutes of your time, because I believe more people should know and be interested in this like this.

check out his other video about Elon Musk.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaAJAwi3Q1U    .

It is fun to discover a Youtuber, and to post his work, and fun to summarize, BUT it would be better if you researched some of these ideas yourself, or added a component of your own ideas to the blog post!
