Otto Dix

Wilhelm Heinrich Otto Dix was a German artist and paint maker who lived from 1891 to 1969. He is know for his realistic war images. He also did some portraits of him self and his wife (who looks surprisingly like Emily). His art is considered impressionism by Mr. Wood. He is one of my favorite artists because his art is so beautifully made and yet has dark themes.

Tired

I’m so tired. Always tired. why dont I ever have time to do the things I love.  I don’t want to grow up. Too much work. I’m too tired to grow up. I just want a good night’s sleep for once in my life. At least I have music. Fuck. I have to get my license and pay for everything that comes with that. Which means that I have to get a job. How do you work and go to school and still have time for singing or painting? Is it really worth it in the end? Will I enjoy life again at some point?  At least I have love. I guess that’s all I need. Haven’t lost that yet. I’m just so tired.

Jelly Bread

Jelly Bread is a somewhat local artist who has been drawing for pretty much his entire life. He is 13 years old and mainly does pencil and digital art. In my opinion he could easily be a comic book illustrator.

I enjoy the simplicity of his art. You can tell he really put effort into it, but it’s not cluttered and unbalanced. I am very impressed by how advanced his art is especially for his age.

You can see more of his art here : https://seansjellybread.tumblr.com/tagged/my%20art

Henry Fuseli

Henry Fuseli was a swiss painter who lived from 1741 to 1825. He live in britain most of his life and favored painting supernatural subject matter. He painted over 200 pieces of art but only displayed a few of them. Some of his most famous works are The Nightmare  and Silence. He also painted for John Boydell’s Shakespeare Gallery.

I love this art because it really speaks to me. The Nightmare(top left) caught my eye right away, I have often had nightmares and woke with the feeling of something standing over me or sitting on me. Silence(bottom) is my favorite, the emotion that is portrayed in this painting for me is almost indescribable, yet it’s something I feel almost every day. It is interesting how art from the 17 and 18,00s is still valid and relatable today.

Chip Whitehouse

Chip Whitehouse is a local artist in Nevada city CA. He uses all sorts of mediums and enjoys everything that has anything to do with art. He studied oil painting at  Indiana University in Bloomington, he also went to fashion school for a year in San Francisco. He was a tattoo apprentice for a couple years and is now working on a collection of acrylic paintings.

I enjoy his art because of the attention to fine detail and all the different mediums he uses.

Fun fact, Chip Whitehouse is Rob Spencer’s favorite artist.

You can see his full portfolio at his website   http://www.chipwhitehouse.com/

School: A Poem by Me

School

I can’t take it,

Feels like drowning.

Most days I cry,

No time to myself.

Maybe I’m dead,

But cursed to live in hell.

Sometimes it feels like death is the only escape.

FUCK.

My art

I enjoy making art a lot more than blogging about it. I mainly work with acrylic on canvas. I recently have been trying new techniques in Mr. Wood’s art class. He has been having us do sketches with out looking at the paper, and also sketches with large motion. I drew the faces of Jazzy and Emily. Emily’s face was drawn without looking at the paper.  Jazzy’s face was drawn with large, energetic motions.

Rhys Owens

Rhys Owens is a digital artist from Swansea in South Wales. His art is inspired by any type of visual art, from tv and cartoons, to music posters and street art. He studied graphic design and some comics. Alot of his artwork has dark colors and almost a post apocalyptic theme.

I personally love this art, I find it inspiring and amazing. To me it almost looks photo realistic. The colors and animals are really cool to me.
