The creative and talented Will Young, is a fifteen year old artist who uses photoshop as his art medium.Though his artwork may be viewed as odd and silly by some, I find it full of life and emotion. I see a powerful statement in each piece. He expresses his opinions in a fun and intriguing way.
In this piece Will puts Donald Trump in a corn field, representing the fact that he believes Donald Trump is, “a sub-human man-vegetable.” In his words. The corn in his ear symbolizes his inability to listen to anything you have to say because he does not care. His lip eyes illustrate that he is unwilling to acknowledge anyone who does not agree with what he says. The squirrel with Trump’s face on it embodies his greed as the cheeks are full, though he does not need so many nuts. The Trump faced corn is self explanatory, Will believes, “that electing him would be like electing a vegetable.” This is my interpretation of the photo. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
The symbolism Will’s photos is not the only thing that makes them great. It is easy to see he pays close attention to detail, and his work is smooth with no choppy lines. His pictures are made with joy and laughter, and they are not sloppy. It is clear that he enjoys every second making his art, though it may be frustrating at times. that is the way of all art.
This is one of my personal favorites, because I had to look twice to figure out what’s wrong here. The transition from eyes to mouth is so smooth, it confused me at first glance.
The artwork of Will Young is art to be admired and laughed at, for it is both funny and creative.
